Engineering Manager - Tourist Attraction - London (Greenwich) - Up to 65,000

Exciting opportunity to work for a leading private sector provider. CBW are currently recruiting for an Engineering Manager to be based on a uniquesite located in London, Greenwich. The Engineering Manager role is an opportunity to join the senior leadership team of a major London tourist attraction and manage the engineering of a unique asset. In the role you will be accountable for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance andall engineering activities on site, providing technical expertise, and maintaining strong and regular communications with all stakeholders.The role has responsibility for managing the budget for all facilities management, asset management and CAPEX budgets. The role has line management responsibilities for the facilities management team and will also manage interactions with the clients wider asset management and engineering teams. As part of the senior leadership team the role will also have a key part in shaping and supporting the overall strategy of the business.

Hours of work

Monday to Friday - 08:00am to 17:00pm (40 hour week)
Act in the capacity of incident manager on a rota basis (1 in 4 weeks / Call out)

Key duties & responsibilities

  • Develop and implement an Asset Management Strategy with the company's long-term plan.
  • Ensure the maintenance of the asset register and lead all inspections and condition monitoring.
  • Oversee maintenance and renewals of major assets
  • Ensuring compliance with HSE legislation and company policies.
  • Identify and manage all engineering safety risks as well as being responsible and accountable for all client related sections of the Risk Control System.
  • Ensuring all assets and systems are fit for purpose and that Business
  • Critical Processes and statutory/legal obligations are complied with.
  • Ensure the Technical File and Engineering Safety Case is updated with any additional information and design modifications.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives - reducing downtime, increasing efficiencies in collaboration with the key subcontractors etc.
  • Managing the CAPEX budget and investment spend to ensure successful maintenance and continual improvement.
  • Lead all capital projects from concept through to completion.
  • Project manage the annual 7-day maintenance shutdown.
  • Provide assurance on the interpretation of technical drawings, design, and modification to any existing or new assets.
  • Be the main point of contact to for all engineering matters and maintain regular communication with the client Engineering & Assurance Manager.

Requirements

  • Engineering degree, or equivalent working experience within an Engineering or related discipline
  • Experience of working as an Engineering Manager or Operations and Maintenance
  • Leading Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Experience within complex transportation, manufacturing, tourist attractions involving safety critical experience is desired.
  • Experience of Asset Management Information systems.
  • A basic Health & Safety qualification (IOSH/NEBOSH).
  • Broad engineering knowledge and experience of implementing best practice in the maintenance of mechanical, electrical and infrastructure assets and systems.
  • Proven ability to lead challenging technical discussions with a range of stakeholders.
  • Competent in producing technical reports.
