About the Role:

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Design Manager to join their London office. Reporting to the Technical Director, you will oversee the design phases of a portfolio of projects in the UK and Bahrain. Your role will involve ensuring cost-effective, technically compliant, and buildable solutions while managing stakeholder requirements, driving efficiency, and delivering designs that meet project timelines, quality standards, and sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead multi-disciplinary design management.
  • Ensure designs align with project scope, budget, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the coordination of engineering disciplines.
  • Implement and manage CDM regulations and Health & Safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with dispersed teams and key stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Provide technical leadership and strategic direction throughout the project lifecycle.

What Our Client is Looking For:

Essential:

  • Extensive experience in multi-disciplinary design management.
  • Degree in an engineering-related discipline.
  • Chartered Engineer status in a relevant field.
  • APM Project Fundamentals Qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of CDM regulations and construction Health & Safety.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale projects with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strategic, operational, and technical management expertise.
  • Knowledge of water treatment processes, including civil and MEICA engineering aspects.

Desirable:

  • Working towards or holding an APM Project Management Qualification.
  • Experience in the water/wastewater treatment industry.
  • Familiarity with BIM procedures and techniques.
  • Collaborative and innovative working mindset.
