MLC Partners are supporting a professional medical body based in central London is recruit an interim Head of Facilities & Estates on a 6months contract. The objective of this role is to manage all premises and facilities, and to deliver a professional and customer focused Facilities Management service to all departments.

Key responsibilities

  • A strategically focused role, with a number of projects to deliver on, including multiple contracts, developing a long term strategic focus for the facilities & estates department.
  • Property Management: property search, lease negotiation, rent reviews, tenancy and contract management.
  • Accommodation: Ensure the safety and security of the building and repairs and maintenance.
  • Health and Safety: Leading the health and safety committee, and ensure the operational health and safety is within accordance with guidance, regulations and policies. Monitor and produce risk assessments, and report to the SMT and board.
  • Contract management, insurance and budgetary controls.
  • Manage the development and training of the facilities & events team, developing key performance indicators.
  • Overseeing the large events portoflio from a facilities perspective, with occasional attendence required after working hours.

Key Criteria

  • Proven track record of operational facilities management, with strong team management skills.
  • Experience of contractor management (property maintenance, facilities management, catering services) and serviced delivery.
  • Experience in property management, assuring property compliance and managing a property compliance register.
  • Ability to build a great professional rapport with all stakeholders.

The is an immediate starting role, with majority of days in the office in central London. This role whilst mainly based in central London may require occasional travel to other sites across the UK.
