Job Title:OCC & Engineering Manager

Role Overview:
We are seeking anOCC & Engineering Managerto oversee operations within the Operations Control Centre (OCC) and ensure the smooth functioning of critical facilities across multiple campuses. This role is pivotal in maintaining M&E systems, infrastructure, and risk management protocols while promoting operational excellence.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in critical environments, with a strong understanding of Data Centre operations, BMS, and engineering management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the OCC, ensuring efficiency in operations, maintenance, and incident response.
- Manage and lead the OCC team, including training, performance reviews, and adherence to company policies.
- Supervise M&E systems, ensuring all reactive and planned maintenance tasks meet SLAs.
- Respond to BMS/EMS alarms, escalate as necessary, and provide updates on actions taken.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, promoting QHSE activities.
- Review and maintain critical system documentation, including MOPs, SOPs, EOPs, and risk assessments.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, ensuring compliance with site procedures and quality standards.
- Deliver accurate reporting on operational metrics, incidents, and root cause analyses.
- Act as the first point of contact for incidents, leading resolution efforts and liaising with client teams.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence within the team.
Contract-Specific Duties:
- Navigate CAFM systems, ensuring accurate data entry and SLA compliance.
- Analyse operational data and contribute to monthly reporting.
- Support readiness for audits by maintaining up-to-date documentation.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize services and ensure seamless operations.
Core Competencies & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in the building services industry and critical environments.
- HV Authorised Person certification.
- Recognized training in Electrical or Mechanical disciplines (City & Guilds, ONC/HNC preferred).
- Familiarity with BMS and CAFM systems; formal qualifications desirable.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- Experience in Health & Safety (NEBOSH/IOSH desirable).
- Calm under pressure, with the ability to lead and deliver results in high-stakes environments.
