Operations ManagerSports Centre, North West London£30,000 (and very generous benefits package) An exciting opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager or Duty Manager to lead the day to day running of a multi-faceted high-end Sports Centre in North West London!The facilities include a gym, swimming pool, sports hall, studios and sports pitches. My client is looking for a highly motivated individual with experience of working within the leisure industry as this is a busy and influential role within the business.  The main responsibilities of the Operations Manager are:  
  • In liaison with the General Manager, be responsible for the development and implementation of appropriate operational standards on site.
  • To manage the daily operation of the Centre, following all operational standards and Health & Safety procedures.
  • To plan and implement an effective operational strategy with the General Manager that ensures an efficient and effective service to the Centre’s customers that is within the agreed budgets and resources.
  • Liaise with the General Manager/ maintenance team on building maintenance.
  • To assist members of the Management Team in order to manage, organise and co-ordinate events, camps and courses, raising the overall profile of the Centre in relation to income generation.
  • Assist the General Manager in developing new business strategies, ensuring the buildings potential is maximised.
The candidate:
  • National Pool Lifeguard Qualification or ability to obtain it within 3 months of start date.
  • Pool Plant Operator qualification or ability to obtain it within 3 months of start date.
  • First Aid Qualification or ability to obtain it within 3 months of start date.
  • Good organisational and administrative skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Flexible – able to work shifts and across 7 days
This is a fantastic job in fitness with very good progression opportunities. Flexibility is required as the early shifts start at 6am and the late shifts finish at 10pm. You must be an outgoing character who thrives in and enjoys meeting the demands of a fast-paced environment.
