Our client one of London's largest bus operators are currently looking to recruit an experienced Engineering Manager to manage one of their busy depots.

The Person:

You will be a qualified heavy vehicle engineer preferably with PSV knowledge and having previously worked within an Engineering Management role. Due to the fast-paced and highly pressured environment your ability to act dynamically and be self-motivated is a must.
A strong technical knowledge is required across varying technologies as the client holds a varied fleet of vehicles (these include knowledge of common emission control systems, diesel electric hybrids and electric).

- Effective decision making is key to the role, and you will be a quick thinker with the ability to make decisions quickly and effectively.
- Hold strong leadership qualities and be capable of motivating staff, commanding respect and be able to work as a team member within the management structure.
- You will be a qualified engineer i.e., membership of the IRTE or other relevant professional qualification, and if not held the ability to gain NEBOSH and CPC.

The Role:

- Working in a major depot your role will be to co-ordinate and manage the engineering function in it's entirety. The role is challenging and exciting as you will be required to manage the maintenance schedule and deal with events as they arise.
- You will be responsible for staff management at the appropriate level, hold a thorough technical knowledge of all engineering agreements, procedures and rules affecting your garage.
- The role is responsible for managing personnel issues, garage budget, stock management and resolving technical issues.
