We are seeking a Compliance and Operations Manager. In this role, you will oversee adherence to industry regulations and standards, manage risks, and optimise processes to exceed client expectations. Your leadership will be crucial in guiding the engineering team, driving continuous improvement, and enhancing overall operational efficiency. Role Overview
  • Assess Maintenance Needs: Identify required maintenance or additional work, evaluating potential health and safety impacts and effects on critical plant operations. Generate Critical Environment Work Authorisation (CEWA).
  • Mitigation Measures: Implement measures to address potential impacts through safe work systems and operational procedures (SOP and EOP).
  • Team Development: Coach and mentor the engineering team in critical maintenance and operations based on CERM methodologies.
  • Asset Reviews: Conduct FMR and asset condition reviews for engineering plants.
  • Change Management: Implement and adhere to the RNOW change approval system effectively.
  • Risk Management: Manage and supervise engineering risks as needed, applying CERM methodologies.
  • CERM Usage: Oversee the engineering team's proficient use of CERM.
  • Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with team members and other staff.
  • Cultural Leadership: Lead daily cultural change by exemplifying safe working practices, compliance, quality standards, and best practices.
  • Continuous Improvement: Propose ideas and initiatives to enhance service levels and foster continuous improvement.
  • Additional Tasks: Perform tasks as required by the Contract Manager based on experience and competencies.
  • System Development: Develop systems, procedures, and process maps to enhance operational functions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Uptime Assurance: Ensure 100% uptime of engineering services to prevent disruptions to business operations.
  • Service Delivery: Deliver services that meet or exceed contractual terms and client expectations.
  • Compliance: Conduct maintenance work in line with policies and health and safety regulations.
  • Certifications: Adhere to standards including Uptime Institute M&O accreditation and BS55001 - Asset Management.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Program Management: Effective program management and efficient personal time management.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in MS Office and familiar with Help Desk Systems.
  • Risk and Quality Management: Expertise in risk and quality management with a clear vision for excellence in engineering management.
  • Meeting Attendance: Availability to attend meetings in London City Centre.

Essential Education and Qualifications
  • Technical Expertise: Demonstrable communication and people skills, and technical expertise in an M&E environment with experience in critical environments.
  • Qualifications: ONC/HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Customer Relationship Skills: Strong skills in managing customer relationships.
  • Safe Systems Knowledge: Knowledge of Safe Systems of Work and "Permit to Work" systems.
  • Technical Understanding: Ability to understand and interpret technical drawings/processes.
  • Documentation Experience: Experience with CEWA, SOP, EOP, and safety documentation.
  • CERM Knowledge: Knowledge of CERM methodologies.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Apprenticeship: Time-served Electrical/Mechanical apprenticeship.
  • HV Switching: HV switching qualification/experience.
  • Regulations: 18th Edition IEE Regulations.
  • Certification: NEBOSH Certification.
  • Office Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
