The Role:

So, what will you be doing as a Materials Programme Manager?

  • Develop and execute comprehensive material programme plans and subcontract management plans with the Supply Chain team.
  • Apply strategic thinking with a tactical approach to programme execution.
  • Partner with Engineering, Quality, and Operations to align project schedules with Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
  • Lead planning-related proposal activities, including task descriptions and basis of estimates.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to develop accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) and maintain material estimating and cost strategies.
  • Develop accurate material estimates and mitigate obsolescence, long lead, and last-time buy material situations.
  • Integrate material strategies into bids and proposals, manage material costs, and make critical make/buy/where decisions.
  • Develop risk/opportunity plans aligned with programme objectives and support Supply Chain functions as required.
  • Monitor performance metrics, address programme and functional issues proactively, and manage Earned Value and financial metrics, including Material EACs and forecasting.

What are we looking for in our next Materials Programme Manager?

  • Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Background in Planning, Supply Chain, Finance, Operations, or Project Management within the Aerospace & Defence industry.
  • MCIPS or APM membership preferred.
  • Extensive planning experience, with proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Project.
  • Experience with budgeting, EACs, and reviewing subcontract statements of work (SOW).
  • Knowledge of electronics/aerospace hardware applications and operational manufacturing processes.
  • Proven leadership in an Integrated Programme Team (IPT) environment.
