We are seeking an Operations Manager for Street Services to join a high-profile department within a North London local authority. This role requires a highly skilled and motivated individual with a strong background in operational and people management. Experience in the waste management field or similar is ideal. The role involves managing dynamic and competing priorities and requires both teamwork and the ability to work independently.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Oversee and manage the daily operations within the Street Services department.
  • Ensure effective management of staff and resources to meet departmental objectives.
  • Handle complex and ever-changing priorities within a high-profile environment.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams and departments to enhance service delivery.
  • Conduct regular field visits to ensure operations are running smoothly and standards are maintained.
  • Utilise strong problem-solving skills to address and resolve operational challenges.
  • Implement and monitor operational processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in operational management, ideally within the waste management sector or a related field.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently using one’s own initiative.
  • Competence in handling high-pressure situations and making informed decisions.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
