Production Manager – Baked Goods

Location: London (Park Royal) and Reading

Shift Pattern: Sunday to Thursday; 8am - 5pm

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000

Pod Talent is excited to partner with an exciting food production scale-up that is currently taking its market by storm. This business is currently operating all around the UK with massive growth plans in place. They are widely celebrated for their innovation, progressiveness and outstanding produce.

As a Production Manager, you’ll have direct responsibility for running a team of 15 operatives, 2 team leads and 2 supervisors in a daily production. In addition, your ability to implement change and work towards continuous improvement will be highly rewarded.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the company during a period of tremendous market success over the past two years. In this role, you will lead a significant project focused on waste reduction and overall production improvements. Key responsibilities include KPI management, data analysis, and overseeing floor operations, all of which are crucial to the success of this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing up to 20 direct reports per shift and fully responsible for quality control, audit and continuous team development.
  • Leading a wastage reduction project and productivity improvement.
  • Contribute, implement and lead continuous improvement initiatives
  • Work towards growth and improvement of your personal and team KPIs following the 6-12 months plan.
  • Making long-standing improvements and decisions based on data collection and KPIs.

Ideal skill set we’re looking for:

  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar industry, ideally in a baked good production role.
  • A proven track record in mentoring, coaching and driving high-performing teams
  • Proficiency and competent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Fantastic interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
