Theyare currently working on a critical project in Mile End, London, focused on the extension and refurbishment of two CT scanner rooms within a busy hospital.
They are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee this project and ensure its successful delivery. The ideal candidate will have a background in healthcare construction and the ability to manage complex, sensitive environments while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
Role & Responsibilities:
As a Site Manager for this healthcare construction project, you will be responsible for:

Day-to-Day Site Management: Overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations on site, ensuring the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Team Leadership: Leading and coordinating a diverse team of subcontractors, laborers, and other site personnel, ensuring effective communication and high levels of performance.

Health and Safety: Enforcing strict adherence to health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel and visitors on site.

Project Coordination: Liaising with the project team, including architects, engineers, and subcontractors, to ensure the project runs smoothly and issues are resolved in a timely manner.

Quality Control: Managing the quality of work to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and client specifications.

Client Liaison: Regular communication with the client (hospital stakeholders) to update on progress, discuss any issues, and maintain positive relationships.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining up-to-date site records, including progress reports, daily site logs, risk assessments, and method statements.

Problem-Solving: Proactively identifying potential issues or delays and finding effective solutions to mitigate risks and ensure the smooth progression of the project.
Key Requirements:

Experience: Significant experience as a Site Manager, ideally with a background in healthcare or hospital construction, particularly involving complex refurbishments and extensions.

Relevant Qualifications: SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme), First Aid at Work, and CSCS card (black or gold).

Knowledge: Strong knowledge of building regulations, health and safety standards, and construction processes in the healthcare sector.

Project Experience: Experience managing the extension or refurbishment of clinical or medical facilities, ideally involving sensitive equipment such as CT scanners or similar healthcare infrastructure.

Leadership: Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a multi-disciplinary team and coordinate a variety of subcontractors.

Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, consultants, and site teams.

Problem-Solving: Proactive in identifying challenges and providing solutions in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

Location: Willingness to work on-site in Mile End, London for the duration of the project.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with working in live hospital environments and managing construction in occupied healthcare facilities.
- Understanding of infection control processes and the importance of maintaining sterile and safe environments in medical areas.
- Previous experience with CT scanner installations or refurbishments is highly desirable.
