Highways Site Manager
Location: Greater London area (EPN, LPN, and SPN regions)
Role Overview
As a site manager working with a leading multi-utilities contractor, you will oversee construction projects across various locations, ensuring that each is delivered safely, on time, and within budget. With a focus on Highways and Utilities, you will manage all on-site activities, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and quality standards. You will be a key player in successfully delivering projects from inception to completion, reporting to the Project Manager or Construction Manager. A proven track record in highways and utilities project delivery is essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Management – Lead construction projects, from planning and scheduling to resource allocation, ensuring they are completed within scope, budget, and timeline.
- Health & Safety Compliance – Conduct regular site inspections, ensuring all work adheres to safety regulations and takes proactive measures to protect workers and the public.
- Subcontractor & Staff Coordination – Oversee site teams, including subcontractors and direct staff, providing training, guidance, and managing relationships with suppliers and clients.
- Quality Control & Documentation – Monitor work quality, ensuring it meets required standards and regulations, and maintain accurate records of project progress, issues, and updates.
Key Skills & Qualifications
- Industry Experience – Proven experience as a Site Manager in Highways and Utilities, with a successful track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Certifications – SMSTS or SSSTS, NRSWA Supervisory, and First Aid certification.
- Project Management Skills – Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office.
- Health & Safety Knowledge – Solid understanding of construction methods, safety standards, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and project specifications.
Salary & Package
- Salary: £45,500 - £55,000 (with potential increase after 3 months)
- Hours: 42.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM - 5 PM)
