Chief Engineer

Location: London
Type: Full-time, 40 hours/week (Monday - Friday, (Apply online only)). Flexibility required for gaps and essential works.
Contract: Permanent

We're seeking a Chief Engineer for our Estates team to ensure top-notch building maintenance at the hospital and satellite sites, covering reactive, project, and scheduled maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain a safe working environment, adhering to company policies.
Oversee daily operations, covering absences and delegating tasks.
Coordinate PPM services with external providers, minimizing disruption.
Perform PPMs and daily checks of plant areas, ensuring cleanliness.
Manage preventive maintenance schedules, keeping accurate records.
Respond to and prioritize incoming work orders, handling emergencies efficiently.
Place call-outs with external service providers.
Manage stock control, sourcing materials, and placing purchase orders.

Qualifications and Skills:

Relevant qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds/NVQ in Electrical, Plumbing, or M&E building services).
Extensive engineering experience in a hospital or similar setting.
Management experience is desirable.
Broad knowledge of building services disciplines.
Understanding of Health and Safety, COSHH, Lifting and Handling, Fire regulations, and Water Management.
Supervisory and leadership experience.
Excellent communication skills.
