On behalf of Deutsche Bank DWS, we are looking for a Real Estate Research Analyst for an Initial 6 month contract based in London on a hybrid working model of 3 days per week in the office and 2 days from home, on a PAYE day rate engagement.

Purpose of the role:

DWS is seeking a parental leave cover, starting in February 2025 for the position of Real Estate Research Analyst.

The European Research Team is located in London and Frankfurt and provides support across the Alternatives platform.

Being part of a truly Global Research Team means exposure to other markets is encouraged and continuous interaction with the wider team is essential as we formulate views on Pan-European and Global investment strategies.

Key responsibilities

  • The candidate will undertake real estate market research across European countries and sectors, with a focus on France, Italy, and Spain. A key output from this analysis will include appraising market conditions to directly support senior management in the formation and implementation of the House View, translation of the House View into actionable investment strategies and ongoing investor reporting and communications.

  • Research also performs an important role in the assessment and underwriting of individual asset and portfolio transactions. The candidate will be involved in analyzing current market conditions and fundamentals to support both transaction review and investment committee processes.
  • In addition to these responsibilities, the candidate will be expected to produce and contribute to, topical investment strategy reports and thought leadership pieces on a periodic basis for both internal and external publication, and regularly support our client facing functions in articulating these views to clients and the wider market.
  • The role may also provide an opportunity for occasional travel for the purpose of asset site visits, workshops, or conference / seminar attendance
  • The analyst will report to a senior member of the Research team in London.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Candidates will have worked and/or possess real estate research experience. Must have direct experience in preparing and managing a range of applied real estate research outputs, including:
  • National and submarket analysis of the major property types or a strong sector focus
  • Understanding of significant macroeconomic and capital market drivers of real estate
  • Using market data to understand current conditions and performance
  • Strategic research related to real estate investment
  • Client focus including demonstrable written and presentation skill
  • The successful candidate should have a well-developed understanding of real estate as an investment asset class, a demonstrated interest in conducting real estate research, strong verbal and written communication skills, Excel and PowerPoint skills and an ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • A degree in real estate, economics or in a relevant related field is required
