With more than 150 members of staff working with associates and partners around the world, IIED has been at the forefront of evidence-based policymaking in sustainable development for over 50 years.The Communications Group is a busy and friendly team of 16, with an operating budget of circa £900,000, working with all other parts of the Institute. In providing a service to our colleagues, we also act as a critical resource and centre of expertise.We are now seeking a Data and Marketing Insights Officer to join our Communications Group on a part-time basis, working 21 hours per week, for a 12-month fixed-term contract.The Benefits- Salary of £37,762 - £41,554 per annum pro rata, depending on experience- 25 days' annual leave per year, increasing by one day for every completed 2 years' service up to 30 days for full-time staff with 10 years' service. We are also closed between Christmas and New Year and this is additional paid holiday- 7.5% employer's pension contributions to the IIED pension scheme- A range of flexible working options for all employees after a qualifying period- Enhanced maternity, paternity and adoption policies- An employee protection scheme offering a flexible menu of benefits such as life insurance, spouse and partner life cover, critical illness and/or income protection coverThis is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced data analyst to join our global business.You will use your skills to guide the next stage of our development, maximising the potential of our communications by applying your knowledge and expertise.So, if you’re ready to become a strategic collaborator, innovator, knowledge broker and agent of change, we want to hear from you!The RoleAs a Data and Marketing Insights Officer, you will co-ordinate, process and present communications data to support the delivery of our data strategy.Specifically, you will help to deliver insights into the impact of our communications work by collecting data from online traffic, user journeys and behaviours across digital platforms and identify areas for improvement.You will help our organisation to optimise our communications and gain insights into the impact of our work, by tracking and reporting our outputs and campaign activities, keeping abreast of industry changes to ensure our systems are consistently fit-for-purpose.Additionally, you will:- Support the training of staff to understand, and make, data-based decisions- Act as a point of reference for data collection processes- Participate in organisation-wide projects, initiatives and meetings- Support the development of A/B testing, reporting and analysisAbout YouTo be considered as a Data and Marketing Insights Officer, you will need:- Experience of working with civil society organisations in data, marketing or communication- Experience of data collection, working with multiple data sets and applying effective problem-solving to data analysis- Experience in creating dynamic data reports- Knowledge and experience of data collection and analysis- Knowledge of data legislation such as GDPR and associated best practice guidelines- Excellent knowledge of Google Analytics 3 / 4 and Excel- Statistical analysis and modelling skills- A-levels or equivalent qualification or relevant professional experience, which demonstrates equivalent academic skillsFluency in other languages such as French or Spanish would be advantageous.The closing date for this role is 24th October 2024.Interviews are expected to take place w/c 4th November 2024.IIED is a hybrid working organisation and you are likely to be working from home most of the time.
