Looking to pursue a marketing career in a corporate environment? This is a great opportunity to support the Marketing & Comms Manager in all aspects of marketing and business development activities. You will be managing the growth of the brand and support a wide range of marketing initiatives.

This role provides a great opportunity to get hands-on experience and exposure in an agile firm where there is significant commercial potential with a focus on digital marketing.

An ideal role for a graduate with some marketing experience.

Key Responsibilities as Marketing Assistant:

External marketing campaigns:

  • Helping to drive business growth by implementing the brand and individual teams’ marketing plans.
  • Carry out project work as agreed, to implement marketing campaigns as directed by the Marketing & Communications Manager.
  • Assisting in delivering campaigns involving advertising, sponsorship, PR, exhibitions and community marketing initiatives.
  • Perform market research as required.

Digital marketing:

  • Managing day to day website updates working with agencies.
  • Contributing to projects to improve the content and structure of the website.
  • Working with others to manage the firm’s social media channels - creating designs for posts, helping to procure engaging content and posting online to increase the profile of the firm and individual lawyers.
  • Helping to create quality, consistently branded email marketing communications.
  • Involvement in video production and organising podcasts.

Internal Communications:

  • Producing a bi-monthly staff newsletter, copywriting and collating copy internally, and briefing a design agency.
  • Helping to co-ordinate fundraising activities working with our chosen charity and organising events for staff.
  • Participating in the social committee and helping to organise staff social events.
  • Communicating with lawyers to co-ordinate training events.
  • Liaising with HR to take ownership of the relevant elements of the starters and leavers process including introduction meetings, website profiles and headshots.
  • Helping to deliver the firm’s social impact & sustainability initiatives.
  • Producing marketing collateral (design and copy) for lawyers, facilities, HR and staff events.

Administration

  • Processing invoices, tracking marketing expenditure and reporting on variances versus budget.
  • Providing administration tasks for the legal directory submission process.
  • Assisting in preparing for meetings including setup, administration, note-taking and managing follow-up actions.
  • Maintaining the marketing calendar and updating content plans for social media, blogs and the email marketing programme.
  • Updating subscriptions and memberships.
  • Ensuring that the firm’s listings are kept up to date.
  • Collating KPIs and producing monthly reports for marketing, customer experience, business development and client data.
  • Undertaking an on-going competitor analysis and reporting on gaps and trends.
  • Collating information to help compile award entries.
  • Helping to facilitate research projects, including the Mystery shopper survey.
  • Managing the merchandise fulfilment process.
  • Managing and reporting on reviews including Review Solicitors and Google reviews.

Events

  • Organising arrangements for awards dinners and helping to co-ordinate networking events.
  • Assisting in organising hosted relationship events.

Key Requirements:

  • BA / BSC (preferably business related) or an appropriate level of experience in a relevant field
  • Up to year of marketing / business experience ideal either post degree or from an internship / integrated placement year.
  • Basic understanding of business development and marketing practices and processes, digital marketing techniques and social media platforms.
  • Creative design skills - Canva or Adobe Photoshop knowledge a bonus.
  • A sense of aesthetics, a spark of creativity and a love for producing great copy.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the confidence to interact with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage workloads effectively
  • Ability to work accurately with strong attention to detail.
  • Good presentation and project management skills.
  • PC and IT literate in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Numerically literate, comfortable working with numbers, making sense of metrics and processing figures with spreadsheets.
  • A commitment to continual learning.
  • Supportive and collaborative approach, a good team player.
  • A can-do attitude and enthusiasm, strong drive and initiative.
  • Interest in working in the professional services arena - previous experience a bonus.
