As SEO Executive at Reed.co.uk, you will be pivotal in planning, implementing, and managing search engine optimisation activities across our Jobseeker, Courses and Career Advice sites. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a keen understanding of SEO best practices and a proven track record of driving successful results. You will be the primary point of contact for our SEO agency, responsible for developing effective SEO strategies to drive organic traffic, improve search engine rankings, and enhance our brand's online presence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and guide our agency in the development and execution of comprehensive SEO strategies aligned with Jobs and Courses business goals
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to incorporate agency recommendations into Product and Engineering roadmaps, and to integrate SEO with broader marketing initiatives
  • Conduct keyword research, competitor analysis, and market research to identify opportunities to improve organic performance
  • Ensure website content aligns with SEO guidelines and identity opportunities for content improvements based on keyword trends
  • Conduct website audits to identify and fix technical issues that impact SEO performance
  • Optimise on-page elements such as meta tags, headings, and URLs and ensure website structure and navigation are set up correctly
  • Keep updated with the latest SEO trends, algorithm updates and best practices
  • Generate regular reports on organic performance, highlighting key metrics and insights
  • Deliver these to a variety of stakeholders, both within the Acquisition team and the wider Marketing team
  • Provide actionable recommendations based on data analysis to improve overall performance

Skills and Experience

  • Our ideal candidate will have previous proven experience as an SEO Executive, or a similar role
  • Strong understanding of search engine algorithms and ranking factors
  • Experience with on-page, off-page and technical SEO strategies
  • Experience developing and implementing linking strategies e.g. digital PR and social media link-building
  • Experience working with content teams to ensure SEO best practices are integrated into new and existing website content
  • Knowledge of SEO tools and platforms, such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console and Keyword Planner
  • Proficient in Google Suite, specifically Sheets and Slides
  • Creativity and a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong evidence of an analytical and growth-led mindset
  • Enthusiastic learner with the ability to manage multiple and varied workflows

Key Measures and Targets

  • Increased traffic, registrations, job applications and course purchases through organic search
  • Growth and efficiency in our visibility and prevalence on the SERP

Additional Requirements

  • In-house experience working with an agency is desired, but not a necessity
  • Exposure to other digital marketing channels is a bonus
