Website Manager

The Chartered Institute for Library and Information Professionals (CILIP) is a London-based charity with a friendly, hardworking team supporting our members in the UK and internationally.

We are seeking an experienced Website Manager to oversee the management of our current web estate while leading the migration and delivery of a new, modernised digital platform and Umbraco based CMS. This role is critical in ensuring that our websites, microsites, and online services align with our business objectives, providing a seamless and engaging user experience.

Reporting to the Head of People and Operations and working closely with the IT Manager and Senior Communications Manager, the ideal candidate will have a combination of technical skills, creativity and strategic thinking to ensure our website is user friendly, visually appealing and aligned with our business goals.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and maintaining our existing web estate, including content updates, SEO, analytics, and security.
  • Overseeing content migration, development, and enhancements for our new website, including a member portal.
  • Supporting the rollout of our Online Membership Community platform.
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external vendors to ensure a smooth transition and successful launch.

This is a unique opportunity to lead a high-impact digital transformation project. If you have experience in website management, content strategy, and digital development, we’d love to hear from you.

It is not essential for the candidate to possess prior knowledge of the sector but they will have the right level of knowledge and enthusiasm to learn rapidly and use their transferable skills to succeed in this role.
