Part-Time Weekend and Bank Female Support Workers

Location: West Dulwich

Salary: £15 per hour Weekday rate, £17 per hour Weekend rate

Hours: Sat-Sun: 12:00pm – 6:30pm (Shifts available during school holidays Mon-Fri 11am-5pm)

The Role                                                                                                                 

The organisation are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate individual to support their 17year-old client with Cerebral Palsy. This position provides an opportunity to make a meaningful impact to the client’s life through supporting her independent living aspirations and access to the community.  

The client is a cheerful and thoughtful individual with a strong sense of humour and diverse interests. This role primarily focuses on facilitating the client’s access to the wider community by supporting her participation in a variety of social events such as activity clubs, cinema visits, dog walks and swimming. Additionally, this role requires assistance with personal care including manual handling to support the client’s accessibility in the community as a wheelchair user. 

There are no experience requirements for this role and full training will be provided, making this a strong opportunity for those interested in pursuing healthcare disciplines to gain valuable experience. Successful candidates will join a small team of experienced carers in the client’s 1:1 private home environment and will have access to support throughout. 

You will be working in a family home and therefore will need to be understanding and respectful of family life. In the holidays there will be additional day time hours and support with holidays both in the UK and abroad.

Support Requirements:

  • Supporting the client accessing and engaging with social activities
  • Providing companionship and encouragement with the client’s independence
  • Supporting the clients communication with others 
  • Assistance with personal care, including manual handling and medication administration
  • Drive the client in her car - manual driver’s license preferred
  • Up to date DBS enhanced level required – paid for by the employer. You will be required to register with the DBS update service.
