Are you a skilled mechanically trained building services maintenance engineer? Do you have experience carrying out routine mechanical maintenance in a data centre or commercial building? Do you have a strong knowledge of maintaining chillers, air conditioning systems and critical infrastructure?

I am working with a leading service provider who are on the search for a mechanical HVAC bias maintenance technician for a flagship commercial contract in London.

  • Mon to Fri (7am to 4pm)
  • £47,000 per annum plus overtime
  • Static site in Central London

Duties

  • Conduct routine inspections, servicing, and repairs of Stulz CRAC units and associated equipment (e.g., air handling units, chillers, pumps).
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) tasks to ensure proper functioning of the air conditioning systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with Stulz CRAC units, including refrigerant levels, electrical systems, compressors, expansion valves, fans, and sensors.
  • Monitor and calibrate temperature and humidity controls to ensure optimal environmental conditions for the data centre.
  • Replace filters, belts, gaskets, and other consumables to maintain efficiency and prolong the lifespan of the units.
  • Perform leak detection, refrigerant recharging, and pressure testing to ensure system integrity.
  • Document all maintenance activities, including system performance, maintenance tasks, repairs, and replacements.
  • Regularly monitor the CRAC unit performance using the Building Management System (BMS) and Stulz-specific diagnostics tools.
  • Provide real-time troubleshooting and diagnostics when systems report faults or malfunctions.
  • Review system alarms and logs to ensure prompt identification of any cooling-related issues.
  • Perform data logging and report temperature and humidity levels to ensure the data centre's cooling requirements are met

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Air conditioning & refrigeration
  • F-Gas Level 1 (min)
  • Commercial maintenance experience in a commercial building/data centre/critical banking building
  • Experience maintaining Stulz CRAC units
