Associate Mechanical Engineer – Central London – Fantastic Benefits – up to £80k
We are currently seeking an ambitious and skilled Associate Mechanical Design Engineer to join an established and highly reputable design consultancy, based in Central London. As a leader in design and engineering, their diverse team work on some of the most prestigious and innovative projects in the UK and across the world.
From sustainability-focused offices and commercial premises to innovative healthcare facilities and from award-winning retail developments to major new residential communities, you will have the opportunity to play a key role in delivering schemes across a vast range of sectors.
As an Associate you will be involved in multiple projects with a varied workload and the autonomy to work individually but will also assist in planning and managing an appropriate resource to deliver projects. Reporting to Regional Director and/or Senior Associate, you will provide support in delivering projects effectively to strict deadlines, whilst maintaining technical performance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the mechanical team on assigned projects, ensuring all mechanical aspects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required standard.
- Ensure compliance with industry and client-specific standards, codes of practice, and regulations.
- Act as the go-to person for technical queries and provide advice and support to team members, clients, and contractors.
- Manage and monitor project budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions are delivered.
- Prepare and review technical reports, specifications, and drawings.
- Assist with business development activities and support proposals.
Key Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership.
- Proven experience in mechanical design within data centre and/or healthcare sectors.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, codes, and standards.
- Experience in managing and leading a team of engineers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
- Be reliable and have a responsible attitude to work
- Shall have a good commercial awareness and judgement
