Brief

Chartered Mechanical Engineer needed on contract to join an established engineering consultancy in the London area.

Bring your skills to the mix as a Chartered Mechanical Engineer; you will lead and contribute to multidisciplinary teams, working on diverse and challenging sectors including Water, Aviation, Defence, Energy, Cities & Development, and Education. You will be part of a team delivering world-class mechanical engineering solutions throughout the project lifecycle, from design to construction, while supporting clients at every stage.

What the role of the Chartered Mechanical Engineer entails:

Some of the main duties of the Chartered Mechanical Engineer will include:

  • Manage a team to undertake technical design work following relevant design standards and codes, and to high-quality levels.
  • Prepare briefs, scopes of work, and input into bid proposals.
  • Successfully manage time and budgets to key project milestones and programmes.
  • Work closely with teams in the UK and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions.
  • Adhere to quality assurance standards in design.

What experience you need to be the successful Chartered Mechanical Engineer:

  • Chartered Mechanical Engineer.
  • Experience in design delivery, including multidisciplinary design.
  • Sound knowledge in mechanical equipment, such as pumps, blowers, screens and chemical dosing plant as well as an in-depth understanding of current UK design standards and working practices.
  • Strong understanding of legislation such as CDM and ATEX.

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview stage.
