Mechanically biased Maintenance Engineer

Location: London W1K 6AN

Salary: £46,000 - £47,500

Hours: 8am- 5pm Mon – Fri

The Role

To carry out planned preventative maintenance, quoted and extra works throughout the Chelsea Barracks development, including reactive calls during normal working hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • To complete assigned PPM work in an efficient and timely manner
  • Provide details for any works or parts that require quoting
  • Survey for extra works and assist in quoting for these
  • Complete job tasks sheets and uploading on the Polyteck CAFM system
  • Keep compliance log books up to date
  • Ensuring Compliance with Health and Safety regulations/risk assessments
  • Liaise with client team and tenants to ensure expectations are managed and met
  • Routine tasks and plant maintained but not limited to:
  • FCU’s
  • UFH
  • MVHR’s, AHU’s, fans
  • Pumps
  • Pressurisation units
  • Lighting
  • Fire alarm tests
  • Generator tests
  • Water hygiene - domestic, pools and water features
  • Fire dampers
  • Personal responsibilities:
  • To present a professional image at all times
  • Giving productive feedback on the performance of other team members for appraisals
  • Ensuring fair treatment for all, working according to the principles of equal opportunity

Team responsibilities:

  • Be aware of basic employment and health and safety law
  • Deal with difficult issues, fairly and effectively
  • Provide encouragement to take ownership of work and contribute to making decisions
  • Provide encouragement to input ideas and constructively challenge decisions made

Skills and Qualifications

  • Must be polite, friendly, smart of appearance and be client/tenant facing
  • Good attitude and eager to learn
  • Good communication and reporting skills
  • To be able to work unsupervised
  • To be either mechanical/plumbing/HVAC disciplined but also a good all-round multi-trader
