Mechanical Building Maintenance Engineer

£45K - Days - Central London

We currently have a great opportunity for a mechanically trained building maintenance engineer to oversee the m+e services within this one man site based in Central London

The building has 7 floors and a mixture of commercial tenants, including some retail and residential areas.

The Mechanically bias engineer should be A/C trained with an FGas Certificate and general maintenance knowledge and experience

They must have good communication skills as they will be in close communication with the building manager on a daily basis and attend monthly maintenance meetings

The engineer will be responsible for the day to day issues that arise, performing the planned preventative maintenance to the HVAC plant and equipment, supervising specialist subcontractors, maintaining all the compliance and making sure documentation is up to date, whilst arranging for sub-contractor's PPM attendances and issuing RAMS and Permits where required.

The hours are Monday to Friday 8.00am - 5.00pm and there will occasionally be a need for the engineer to be available for out of normal hours working which will be paid as overtime

About You:

  • Mechanical engineer with a maintenance background
  • FGas Certificate
  • Experienced fault finding skills in LTHW heating systems, Air Compressors, Gas Fired Boilers, Steam Boilers, Water Treatment, Cooling Towers, etc
  • L8 ACOP
  • Legionella Awareness
  • Excellent communications skills with all levels of the workforce
  • Electrical Knowledge
  • The ability to work within a customer focused environment where brand image is very important
  • Sound knowledge of understanding and developing safety documentation to ensure site safety procedures are followed at all times
  • Customer Liaison skills
  • COSHH Awareness
  • First Aid
  • Positive and confident
  • Professional approach & demeanour producing quality workmanship at all times with a smart appearance
