Role Purpose
  • Support the team to provide a professional mechanical engineering service, specifying and designing new mechanical systems, inspecting works, generating reports and presentations, assisting with various tasks within the team such as design, procurement, site inspections, and project management for various mechanical engineering projects undertaken by the council.

Responsibilities
  • To help support the team progress projects during the design and specification and delivery stage and during the defect liability period ensuring projects are delivered on time and to budget and to the correct technical specification.
  • Help provide technical representation where required for different stakeholders, working parties, client organisations, tenant associations, external agencies. Will also be required to arrange and attend stakeholder meetings to support more senior engineers as required.
  • To stand in for the Senior Mechanical Engineer when developing and delivering projects with other project stakeholders.
  • To help deliver and maintain the highest standards of contract administration, design and budget control on all projects and maintenance works undertaken by the section.
  • To provide support on, procurement, planning and design, preparation of technical specifications, maintenance requirements, and project budget estimates.

Requirements
  • Achieve appraisal targets, service outcomes and outputs as agreed with your line manager.
  • To use and assist information technology systems to carry out duties in the most efficient and effective manner.
  • To undertake training and continuing professional development and help improve knowledge and technical understanding of the role.

Contract
  • Initial 6 to 12 month ongoing contract with the opportunity to extend
  • PAYE via Umbrella
  • Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm
