We've got an exciting new role for a Mechanical Shift Engineer, working for a rapidly growing Building Service Provider in Farringdon. This is a great chance to work on a new contract for our client, which also offers opportunities for career growth, valuable career experience, additional training and exposure to a flagship contract. This role of Mechanical Shift Engineer will follow a continental shift pattern (Days and Nights), on a large commercial property, undergo PPM and Reactive Maintenance on primarily mechanical equipment, liaise with subcontractors, and ensure all statutory compliance is adhered to. To be successful in this role, you will need to be fully qualified in Mechanical Engineering, at least 3 years years experience in a similar role and possess a client facing and positive attitude. Mechanical Shift Engineer Duties:

  • PPMs & Reactive maintenance.
  • Motors, Generators (on/off load tests), Shutdowns, Motors, AHUs, FCUs, VAVs, Sprinkler Systems, Pumps, Belts, Bearings, Seals, Water Treatment and BMS Operation.
  • Carry out isolation of plants and systems in accordance with safety requirements.
  • Ensure corrective/repair works are carried out in accordance with regulations.
  • Endorse safe working practices, quality standards conformity and best practice methods.
  • Organising subcontractors.
  • Completing logbooks and RAMS.
  • Reports.
  • Permits to work.
  • Raise and close jobs on PDA's as necessary.

Mechanical Shift Engineer Requirements:

  • Fully qualified in Mechanical Engineering (City and Guilds / NVQ or equivalent)
  • At least 3 years experience in commercial maintenance
  • Polite and personable
  • Client facing attitude
  • Apprentice trained - Desirable
