Client Overview:A leading manufacturer and supplier of powertrain products in the UK and Ireland, specializing in Engine Overhaul, Final Drive Overhaul, and Locomotive Refurbishment.Job Purpose:This is an exciting opportunity to join a globally recognized rolling stock company. The primary role will involve maintaining and servicing diesel engines (Class 1800 MTU) across multiple locations in Germany. You will handle field service tasks, attend breakdowns, and provide fault diagnostics and maintenance solutions. The role offers flexibility, with the potential for travel between the UK and Germany on a bi-weekly basis.Key Responsibilities:Conduct maintenance, repairs, and modification programs on diesel engines (Class 1800 MTU).Provide first-line support and advice to customers.Diagnose faults and resolve breakdowns in the field.Liaise with internal teams (Quality, Engineering, Projects) to ensure successful issue resolution.Read and interpret engineering drawings and manuals in both German and English.Requirements:Minimum 3 years of mechanical experience on heavy diesel engines or large vehicles (experience with rolling stock preferred).NVQ Level 3 in a mechanical discipline.Full, clean driving license.Fluency in German (exceptions may be made for candidates with a good understanding of the language).Ability to read technical documentation in both German and English.Experience with field service or similar maintenance roles is advantageous.Engine fault-finding and diagnostic experience.Package:45-hour weekly contract with overtime paid beyond 45 hours.On-call pay (minimum of 3 hours for applicable days).28 days holiday.Employer pension contribution of 4%.Company van, mobile, iPad, and specialized tooling provided.Fuel card and expenses covered.Depots:Werkstatt Mettmann, MettmannNordWestBahn GmbH, OsnabrückBahnbetriebswerk Lenggries, LenggriesBayerische Regiobahn GmbH, AugsburgWerkstatt Dorsten, DorstenAdditional Information:Applicants must pass a drugs and alcohol test before being offered the position.
