They pride themselves on delivering innovative designs that meet client needs while promoting energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.

They're now seeking a talented Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team to help deliver exceptional mechanical engineering solutions for high-profile UK commercial fit-out projects.

The Role:

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, managing, and delivering high-caliber CAT A and CAT B commercial fit-out projects. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to develop mechanical solutions that align with the needs of their clients, local regulations, and sustainability goals. You will lead projects through the design phase, oversee quality control, and provide technical mentorship to junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the design, coordination, and implementation of mechanical services for CAT A/B commercial fit-outs, ensuring all work aligns with client specifications, timelines, and budgets.

- Develop and deliver detailed mechanical designs, including HVAC, ductwork, plumbing, and other essential building services.

- Oversee and manage project documentation, ensuring compliance with UK standards and regulations.

- Conduct site visits and inspections to assess project progress, troubleshoot issues, and ensure adherence to design specifications.

- Collaborate with clients, architects, and project managers to align designs with overall project goals.

- Support the development and mentoring of junior engineers and design staff within the team.

- Actively contribute to sustainability and energy efficiency considerations within design frameworks.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline; CEng status preferred.

- 5+ years of mechanical design experience with recent hands-on project experience in UK commercial CAT A/B fit-out projects.

- Proven knowledge of UK building regulations, standards, and best practices for commercial building services.

- Proficiency with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and IES, with an emphasis on mechanical systems.

- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and make decisions confidently.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work effectively with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
