Job Purpose

This role involves managing mechanical and electrical (M&E) projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and delivering high-quality results across multiple sites. You will oversee contracts, designs, and specifications for M&E works, manage project risks, and act as a key point of contact for stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage contracts, designs, and specifications for M&E projects.
  • Ensure installation works comply with industry standards and manufacturer recommendations.
  • Lead project delivery, with responsibility for HSE and CDM 2015 requirements.
  • Maintain transparent communication with stakeholders throughout project lifecycles.
  • Oversee quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) matters.
  • Manage ordered works design and delivery on Ministry of Defence (MOD) sites in Iraq, Oman, UAE, and Bahrain.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure safety, quality, and value for money.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues, including investigating defects and overseeing repairs.
  • Manage personnel, equipment, and resources for allocated tasks.
  • Prepare cost estimates within contracted timescales.
Experience and Skills
  • Experience preparing option studies and conducting technical inspections.
  • Expertise in mechanical and electrical engineering, including electrical system surveys.
  • Proficiency in using commercial software for design, planning, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of construction health, safety, and environmental matters.
  • Ability to produce bills of quantities, materials lists, and design drawings.
  • Experience managing site records, as-built drawings, and documentation.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with clients, contractors, and authorities.
  • Proven experience in construction site management and M&E project delivery.
Qualifications
  • Minimum HND in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
  • Qualified to 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations.
  • Valid DE certification in a relevant discipline.
  • MOD/DIO Authorised Person appointment in Mechanical or Electrical discipline (JSP 375 Volume 3).
  • Valid First Aid certificate (3-day standard).
