About the Role:As a Maintenance Technician, you’ll be responsible for ensuring our facilities are maintained to the highest standards. This role combines your electrical expertise with a variety of general maintenance tasks, making every day unique. You’ll work both independently and as part of a team, helping to keep our operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:Electrical Maintenance (Core Focus)
- Diagnose and fix electrical issues in storage and office spaces.
- Install, repair, and replace electrical components, including lighting and sockets.
- Perform routine testing and maintenance to ensure compliance with 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
Additional Maintenance Tasks
Plumbing:
- Address minor leaks and replace taps, washers, and sanitary ware.
- Unblock internal waste pipes and replace tiles where needed.
Carpentry:
- Adjust, repair, and install doors, locks, and shelving.
- Replace timber decking on trolleys and repair cabinetry.
Painting:
- Undertake decorative touch-ups and repaint damaged areas.
- Refresh trolleys, bollards, and floors with appropriate paints.
Sheet Metalwork:
- Repair storage units, replace locks, and address accident damage.
- Refit panels, bump strips, and security meshes.
General Maintenance:
- Carry out other tasks as assigned by the Line Manager or Head of Department.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
- A minimum of 5 years in a similar maintenance role.
- Full, clean UK driving licence with excellent driving skills.
Key Skills and Competencies:
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
- Ability to prioritise tasks, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in the safe use of tools, equipment, and materials (e.g., ladders, PPE, and paints).
- Knowledge of health and safety practices, including manual handling.
