Teqniq is searching for a Mechanical Inspector to work in the public sector.

35 hours per week.

4 months contract.

09:00-17:00

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

Inspect, monitor, and ensure the quality and compliance of mechanical installations, including:

Heating systems upgrades.

Heat interface units (HIUs).

Heat metering systems.

Gas boiler replacements.

Low carbon solutions such as heat pumps and related technologies.

Verify that all work aligns with technical specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.

Liaise with contractors, engineers, and project managers to ensure seamless delivery of projects within the agreed timeframe and budget.

Identify and report defects, ensuring corrective actions are taken.

Conduct regular site visits and prepare detailed inspection reports.

Support the integration of innovative, sustainable technologies aimed at reducing carbon emissions.

Key Skills and Experience Required:

Proven experience in mechanical inspections within a capital works or retrofit programme.

Strong knowledge of heating systems, including gas boilers, HIUs, and heat pumps.

Familiarity with low-carbon technologies and sustainable building practices.

Excellent understanding of compliance standards, building regulations, and health & safety requirements.

Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering or a related field.

Desirable:

Experience with heat metering systems.

Knowledge of renewable energy solutions and emerging low-carbon technologies.
