I am seeking a Multi-Skilled Building Services Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical Bias) to join my client's team at a prestigious site in Blackfriars, London. This is a unique opportunity to work a 4-day week (Monday to Thursday, 16:30 - 02:00), providing maintenance support in a high-profile commercial environment.

The role involves planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, and fault-finding on mechanical and building services systems, with some basic electrical and plumbing responsibilities. A company car is included in the package for travel to and from the site.

Key Responsibilities

?? Mechanical Maintenance & Repairs

  • Perform PPM and reactive maintenance on HVAC systems, pumps, motors, valves, AHUs, FCUs, and general building services.
  • Conduct routine servicing, troubleshooting, and repairs on heating and ventilation systems.
  • Carry out minor plumbing tasks, including pipework repairs, leak detection, and drainage maintenance.

?? Electrical & General Building Services Support

  • Assist with basic electrical work, including emergency lighting checks and minor wiring tasks.
  • Conduct compliance checks, including fire alarm testing, water temperature monitoring (L8 Legionella control), and BMS system checks.
  • Work collaboratively with other engineers and subcontractors to ensure smooth site operations.

?? Compliance & Health & Safety

  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health & safety regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of completed work and report any critical issues to the site supervisor.
  • Conduct risk assessments and adhere to permit-to-work procedures when required.

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 2/3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, or Building Services.
  • Proven experience working in a commercial building services maintenance role.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, pumps, motors, and pressurisation units.
  • Basic electrical and plumbing knowledge.
  • Understanding of health & safety regulations and compliance checks (L8, COSHH, LOLER, PUWER, etc.).
  • Full UK driving licence (for company car use).
