Our focus is on delivering exceptional support to ensure smooth operations in hospitals and healthcare facilities where safety, reliability, and efficiency are paramount.

The Role:My client are looking for a skilled Building Services Shift Technician to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and operation of critical building services, ensuring all systems are running efficiently to support 24/7 healthcare operations. You will work within a high-pressure environment, ensuring that all building systems are functional and compliant with strict healthcare standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on HVAC systems, hot/cold water, and plumbing plant equipment
  • Monitor and maintain essential systems including backup power, medical gases, and ventilation units.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and healthcare standards.
  • Troubleshoot and respond to faults, breakdowns, and emergency call-outs promptly to minimise downtime.
  • Work closely with the healthcare facilities team to ensure seamless operation and address urgent issues.
  • Document all work carried out and ensure accurate reporting of maintenance activities.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and other healthcare-specific regulations.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven experience as a Building Services Engineer or Technician, preferably in a healthcare or other critical environment.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical installations, plumbing, and mechanical services.
  • Ability to work effectively in a shift-based role, including nights and weekends.
  • Familiarity with healthcare compliance, infection control, and safety standards is highly desirable.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
