My client are a market leader in building services, providing essential maintenance and support to commercial and industrial facilities across the region. They are currently seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Bias Shift Maintenance Engineer to join their building services team. Working within a shift-based system, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of mechanical systems in a critical building in the heart of London. You will work on planned preventative maintenance (PPM), respond to reactive repairs, and ensure all systems operate optimally during your shift.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out routine PPM on mechanical systems including HVAC, boilers, pumps, fans, and compressors.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical faults, ensuring minimal downtime of equipment.
  • Respond to breakdowns, emergencies, and reactive maintenance requests.
  • Ensure that mechanical systems meet regulatory requirements, including health and safety and building compliance standards.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider maintenance team to address multi-disciplinary issues across HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of all work carried out, including reports, logs, and safety checks.
  • Follow shift patterns that ensure 24/7 coverage, including nights, weekends, and bank holidays.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer with a mechanical bias, ideally within building services or facilities management.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems such as HVAC, heating, cooling, and ventilation systems.
  • Experience working with pumps, motors, fans, and pressurized systems.
  • NVQ/C&G Level 2/3 in mechanical maintenance/plumbing & heating
  • Time service in building services sector
  • Career driven
