Section Engineer
Currently recruiting a Section Engineer for a Tier 1 Contractor who will be working on a major rail station project in Northwest London. A successful Section Engineer will be tasked with reporting to a Package Manager and a Senior Package Manager, assisting with looking after several subcontractors relating to utility diversions and highway construction.
About the role of a Section Engineer
Our client is looking to hire a Section Engineer, who has prior, and relatively, good knowledge with highways, utility diversions, temporary works, and heavy civil engineering works. Attention to details will help standing out as you will need to be reviewing sub-contractor documentation, such as: Drawings, ITP's, RAMS, CPP's, WPP's etc. As well as making sure the importance of H&S and safe practice requirements is followed and implemented at all times throughout the project.
Responsibilities for a Section Engineer
The candidate who is successful following the hiring process, will be responsible for:
- The review of Subcontractor documentation Drawings, ITP's, RAMS, CPP's, WPP's etc.
- Ensuring all health and safety practices are monitored and adhered to effectively and correctly and implemented at all stages of the project
- Work alongside the Package Manager in producing a risk and opportunities register and reviewing it regularly to implement any required and or recommended changes.
- Document and a record a Daily Site diary, that should include any: changes, variations, site attendance, use of materials, record of deliveries etc.
Requirements for a Section Engineer
A competent and standout Section Engineer will be able to demonstrate:
- A clear history of dealing with heavy civil engineering works such as, construction of highways, and utility construction techniques and knowledge of best practice
- Knowledge and understanding of working towards construction contracts
- A Degree in Civil Engineering
- Valid CSCS
- SMSTS
- SSSTS (Desirable)
- EUSR
