Vision Personnel are delighted to be working with a repeat client to identify a Technical Manager to head up the Technical side of the business.

Main duties

- Running design team meetings.

- Following up and actioning from meetings.

- Coordinating all the design team including sub- contractors design.

- Obtaining details and setting up quotes/ orders with utility provider.

- Tracking progress with service connections and metering.

- Tracking progress across consultants in terms of closing out building control conditions/ planning conditions/ warranty provider conditions.

- Checking of drawings and making sure consultants are showing coordinated

- Value engineering

- Checking of material compatibilities specified by different designers and sub-contractors.

- Attending sub-contractor meetings and answering and queries. Attending site walk arounds with sub-contractors and designers.

- RFI tracking and consulting with surveying department on potential cost differences.

- Add to any buying analysis

- Attending monthly WTP meeting.

- Weekly reporting across all schemes in terms of consultants/ services/ building control/ planning/ sectional agreements

- Tender reviews and contribute to tender enquiries;- highlight possible changes to designs, highlight possible changes to materials, what scope there is within planning conditions granted and indicate if there is any aspect where material changes back to planning can be made and make them.

- Add brief report in the monthly client meetings.

- Consult on design standards

- Finishes and envelop schedule developing.

Future duties

Will be able to act as PD on design and build schemes moving forward once team is established.

Monitoring performance of consultants

Managing consultant budgets and feeding back into tender costings.

Keep up to date on changing design standards and building regulations and coordinate on how this is added into design where needed.

Standardising technical detailing where failures have occurred previously
