We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced medical secretary to join our client's prestigious cardiology practice in central London. This role combines administrative support with managerial responsibilities, offering an excellent opportunity for professional growth within a respected medical setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Administrative Tasks:
- Managing the consultant's schedule and appointments
- Handling patient inquiries and correspondence
- Preparing and managing medical reports and letters
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records
Managerial Duties:
- Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the practice
- Managing invoicing and financial records
- Liaising with hospitals, insurance companies, and other healthcare providers
- Coordinating with other staff members and external partners
Growth and Development:
- Identifying areas for practice improvement and efficiency
- Assisting in the implementation of new technologies and processes
- Supporting the practice's research and educational initiatives
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience as a medical secretary, preferably in cardiology
- Proficiency in DGL software
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated capacity for growth and taking on additional responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a private medical practice setting
- Knowledge of cardiology-specific procedures and terminology
- Understanding of medical billing and insurance processes
- Familiarity with research protocols and clinical trials administration
Salary and Working Conditions:
- Salary Range: £35,000 - £39,000 per annum, depending on experience
- Initial Employment: The ideal candidate will start on a part-time basis until December, with the role transitioning to a full-time role thereafter
