My Client, a private medical practice based near St Johns Wood, is searching for a Medical Secretary to complete a 12-month Fixed Term Contract.

The role involves managing a range of administrative tasks to support clinicians and ensure efficient patient care. Experience with the DGL system and a background in Ophthalmology would be advantageous.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Prepare and send clinic letters on time, to ensure all documents are complete and shared correctly.
  • Answer patient questions about appointments and follow-up care, coordinating with doctors to resolve any administrative issues and keep patients updated.
  • Manage the creation and distribution of medical reports, referral letters, and other documents, ensuring they are accurate.
  • Keep patient records updated while following data protection rules, managing information through internal systems.
  • Help doctors complete their administrative tasks on time by providing regular reminders.
  • Work with administrative and clinical teams to ensure smooth communication and assist with projects as needed.
  • Handle all patient and clinician information confidentially, following legal and company guidelines on privacy and data protection.
