Job Title: Medical Secretary

Location: Farringdon

Remuneration: £13 - £14 per hour

Contract Details: Temporary, 8 weeks

Working Pattern:

  • Part-Time: 10 hours a week, split over Monday (5 hours) and Tuesday (5 hours) from 9 am to 2 pm.
  • Initial induction will be 2 weeks in the office, followed by a flexible arrangement of 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.

Are you an experienced Medical Secretary looking for your next opportunity? Our client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join their team in Farringdon for a temporary role. This is an excellent chance to contribute to a dynamic healthcare environment and support patient care!

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation and distribution of clinic letters, adhering to strict turnaround times (TaT).
  • Respond to patient queries regarding appointments and follow-up care, keeping them informed throughout their journey.
  • Manage the preparation, typing, and distribution of medical reports and referral letters, maintaining high standards of accuracy.
  • Maintain and update patient records, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Collaborate with clinicians to support their administrative tasks, providing reminders for outstanding reports and letters.
  • Work with the Patient Liaison Manager to monitor compliance with SLAs and identify potential delays proactively.
  • Assist with administrative projects alongside the wider clinical and administrative teams.
  • Handle all patient and clinician information with confidentiality, following legal guidelines.

Experience/Skill Set:

  • Experience as a medical secretary or in a similar administrative role within a healthcare setting.
  • Proven experience managing patient correspondence and working with clinicians effectively.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and clinic operations.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent typing and administrative skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for professional interactions.
  • Proficiency in IT systems, including patient management systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
