This vital role involves ensuring pupils with medical needs receive exceptional care and support, while also monitoring and managing attendance to help drive pupil success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Medical and Welfare Support:
  • Provide first aid and medical attention for pupils and staff.
  • Administer medications as per care plans and ensure proper storage.
  • Coordinate with healthcare professionals and maintain updated medical records.
  • Assist pupils with personal hygiene and health concerns to support learning.
  • Stock and maintain first aid supplies, including for school trips.
  • Attendance Management:
  • Monitor and improve pupil attendance.
  • Communicate attendance importance to pupils, parents, and staff.
  • Manage daily attendance records, follow up on absences, and liaise with the local authority.
  • Implement attendance improvement initiatives and reward schemes.
  • Information Management and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate records of medical interventions and report to parents as needed.
  • Ensure medical and attendance data is entered correctly and complies with data protection regulations.
  • Generate reports on attendance and medical incidents for management and external agencies.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in education.
  • Strong knowledge of medical needs and first aid (certification preferred).
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Compassionate and effective when working with children.
  • Proficient in school database systems, preferably SIMS.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
