Description
- You will be responsible for working with colleagues, members and partners - both existing and potential - to develop pathways to new opportunities in a rapidly changing landscape
- Collaborate with partners to benefit members and grow and diversify income streams for long-term sustainability
- Develop client relationships and work closely with colleagues across the Development Opportunities, Scientific Programmes and Engagement and Storytelling themes to increase collaboration with industry to develop and grow and sustain income generating activities
- Manage a portfolio of partner accounts - including a range of commercial organisations working on products and services for the scientific community - developing and nurturing strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders to deliver and maintain sustainable income streams
- Proactively identify and pursue opportunities with new companies to grow our client's network of industry partners, income generation opportunities and financial support for activities
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and market conditions to anticipate client needs and opportunities
- Represent the Society at events and, as appropriate, target industry contacts that can bring added value to the Society's programmes and activities, delivering tangible results through effective stakeholder management
Profile
Our client is looking for a consultative and customer-centric team player, with an interest in and ideally an understanding of (possibly through degree studies) of the life sciences / medical space. It is desirable that you come with experience of having worked for a membership organisation and have sales experience.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage multiple workstreams
Ability to work independently, managing and prioritising the workload and making informed decisions regarding prospects and projects
Customer support and business development / client engagement experience
Skilled in confidently negotiating and managing interactions with internal and external stakeholders
Self-motivated with good time-management and communication skills
Travel to UK and European events - ability and want to do this
Job Offer
This is a hybrid role where two days a week are required in the London office. £31k salary and excellent benefits including 10% employer contribution to pension.
