What you'll do:As a Junior Risk Catastrophe Analyst, your role will be pivotal in providing modelling pricing support to Direct & Facultative Lines of Business. You will be expected to collaborate effectively with underwriting teams, offering your expertise on key catastrophe risk management issues. Your ability to develop strong relationships with key stakeholders will be crucial in this role. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to expand your knowledge of Underwriting team practices and data usage/reporting. This role offers a unique opportunity to understand data workflows between teams and utilise this knowledge to identify the right team members who can assist in achieving your goals.

  • Provide catastrophe modelling support for pricing and risk selection purposes mainly for direct Insurance teams.
  • Offer catastrophe modelling support for portfolio management purposes.
  • Work proactively with underwriting teams to help queries regarding modelling requests.
  • Take responsibility as a key SME for a line of business.
  • Liaise closely with direct and facultative underwriting teams on key catastrophe risk management issues.
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders as required.
  • Improve knowledge of Underwriting team practices and how data is used/reported.
  • Identify the appropriate team member(s) who can help you achieve your goals.
  • Understand data workflows between teams and how it is used.

What you bring:As a Junior Risk Catastrophe Analyst, you bring a wealth of skills to the table. Ideally, you are a graduate from geography, maths/statistics or IT related fields. Your experience in an analytical/data handling role will be highly beneficial in this position. Your knowledge of insurance coupled with strong MS Excel skills will be crucial in performing your duties. Your ability to manipulate data, communicate effectively and maintain accuracy in your work will set you apart. Being self-motivated and organised, you are used to acting on your own initiative. Your analytical skills and experience with Catastrophe modelling software will be highly valued. GIS skills, particularly experience with ARCGIS, would be a desirable addition.

  • Graduate (preferred subjects - geography, maths / statistics, IT)
  • Experience of working in an analytical / data handling role is beneficial
  • Experience/knowledge of Insurance desired.
  • Strong and proficient MS Excel skills
  • Data manipulation skills are essential.
