Job Title: Trainee Catastrophe Risk Analyst (School Leaver)Location: London (hybrid working, 3 days in office)The Role:We are looking for a school leaver or recent graduate to join the Catastrophe Risk team at Aspen.The purpose of the role is to develop modelling pricing support skills to aid Direct & Facultative Lines of Business."Our Aspen Values are expected to be reflected in the delivery and performance of every role."Key Responsibilities:Strategy and Planning:

  • Learn and develop catastrophe modelling support skills for pricing and risk selection purposes
  • Build skills to be able to provide catastrophe modelling support for portfolio management purposes

Policy, Process and Procedures:

  • Collaborate and be proactive in working within different areas of the CRM team to provide assistance where required
  • Assistance in quarterly accumulations

Environmental Awareness/Customer Focus:

  • Liaise with direct and facultative underwriting teams on catastrophe risk management issues and queries
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders as required

Technical Performance:

  • Improve knowledge of Underwriting team practices and how data is used/reported
  • Identify the appropriate team member(s) who can help you achieve your goals
  • Understand data workflows between teams and how it is used

Skills & Experience:

  • A level (preferred subjects -maths, IT /Computing, with a minimum grade A)
  • Experience/knowledge of Insurance desired.
  • Proficient MS Excel skills
  • Data manipulation skills are desired.
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Numerate
  • Accuracy
  • Self-motivated and used to acting on own initiative
