Senior Process Development Chemist / Scientist - Materials Science - Contract - London
Our client is a cutting edge materials sciences business specialising in the latest development of new technologies to protect the environment and capture harmful chemicals from water.
At present they are seeking an experienced Senior Process Development Chemist on a consultancy/interim basis to support them on their next phase of product development. The ideal candidate will hold a PhD in Chemistry and have previous industrial experience in process development and translating / scaling up chemical processes from lab to full scale production.
Responsibilities:
- Design and perform experiments to enhance understanding of reaction chemistry in order to optimise manufacturing processes.
- Liaise with in-house manufacturing teams to ensure integration of process development chemistry, optimising production efficiency and maintaining process control.
- Research and test new synthetic routes to improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Collaborate with third-party manufacturers to provide chemistry insights and support process.
- Work closely with analytical scientists to ensure product quality and reproducibility and to investigate reaction monitoring processes where applicable.
- Embed process chemistry considerations in new material development projects
