Mobile Mechanical Engineer - Central London - £45,000 - £50,000 per annum

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mobile Mechanical Engineer to join a growing company in Central London. With primary sites in Piccadilly, Islington, and St Paul's, and the head office in Hatfield, this role will offer a dynamic and rewarding environment. The company is seeking a candidate who has extensive experience in reactive maintenance and installations, with the potential for career advancement into a lead or management role.
Duties:
- Perform reactive maintenance and installations across multiple sites in Central London
- Survey works and provide detailed materials and labor requirements
- Work on mechanical, plumbing, and air conditioning systems in commercial environments
- Experience with communal plant rooms, boiler rooms, commercial plant rooms, pipework systems, AHU's, motors, and pumps is a must
- Ability to work on 10-inch pipes and conduct maintenance on large commercial systems
- Willingness to participate in the on-call rota (1 in 4, with £100 per week standby)
Hours of Work & Salary:
- Up to £50,000 per annum (depending on experience)
- Monday to Friday with occasional Saturdays (at least 2 per month)
- £100 per week standby for on-call
- Van, fuel card, uniform, PPE, and tools provided
- 25 days annual leave + Bank Holidays
- Standard pension contribution
- Overtime rates: x1.3, x1.5, x2 depending on the time worked
- No personal use of the van and no travel time
Requirements:
- Level 3 mechanical qualifications (ideal)
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, and AC systems, particularly in commercial environments
- Experience with surveying, large pipework systems, motors, pumps, and AHU's
- At least 3-5 years of relevant industry experience
- Must be happy to be on-call and work the occasional Saturday
- Experience working in hotels and commercial plant rooms would be beneficial
