HLTA Role Overview
  • Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
  • Salary: £25,000
  • Start Date: January 2025, continuing until July 2025
  • Location: Hammersmith & Fulham, within an Outstanding-rated Primary School
  • Development: Comprehensive training, CPD opportunities, and hands-on teaching experience to prepare for teacher training in September 2025.
Candidate Criteria:
  • A First-Class or Upper Second-Class (2:1) degree in any discipline from a top UK university.
  • Previous experience working with children in any capacity (e.g., tutoring, volunteering, childcare).
  • A genuine passion for teaching and supporting young learners.
  • Strong academic background, including excellent GCSE and A-Level results.
  • The confidence to lead small group sessions and occasionally cover lessons independently.
Role Responsibilities: As an HLTA, you will:

  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
  • Lead small group interventions and support pupils on a 1:1 basis where required.
  • Take responsibility for planning and delivering activities during teacher absence.
  • Play a key role in supporting childrens academic progress and emotional development.
  • Gain practical classroom experience while developing essential skills for your teaching career.
