Experience
 The Class Teacher should have experience of:
•   Teaching or having placements in at least one area: Foundation Stage, Key Stage One or Key Stage Two
•   In addition, the Class Teacher might have experience of teaching in another area: Foundation Stage, Key Stage One and Key Stage Two
Knowledge and understandingÂ
The Class Teacher should have knowledge and understanding of:Â
•   The theory and practice of providing effectively for the individual needs of all children (e.g. classroom organisation, learning strategies and intervention support)
•   Statutory requirements at the appropriate phase or key stage
•   The monitoring, assessment (formative and summative), recording and reporting of pupils’ progress
•   The statutory requirements of legislation concerning Equal Opportunities, Health & Safety, SEND and Child Protection
•   The positive links necessary within school and with all its stakeholders
•   Effective teaching and learning styles
•   In addition, the Class Teacher might also have knowledge and understanding of: the preparation and administration of statutory assessment requirements
SkillsÂ
The Class Teacher will be able to:Â
•   Promote the school’s aims positively, and use effective strategies to monitor motivation and morale
•   Develop good personal relationships within a team contributing to wider school life
•   Establish and develop effective relationships with parents, governors
•   In addition, the Class Teacher might also be able to: develop strategies for creating community links. the community; communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) to a variety of audiences; and create a happy, challenging and effective learning environment with excellent behaviour management
