Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Van Driver with a passion for furniture assembly and a potential carpentry background to join our dynamic team. This exciting role offers a unique opportunity to combine driving, delivery, and hands-on furniture assembly. Based in North London, you will be responsible for delivering furniture to various customer locations, and assembling products to the highest standards. Your ability to combine driving expertise with carpentry or assembly skills will ensure that customers receive their furniture in top condition and with excellent service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Furniture Delivery: Safely drive a van to deliver furniture to various locations in and around North London, ensuring the safe transportation of items and adhering to delivery schedules.
- Furniture Assembly: Assemble furniture at customer locations with precision, ensuring products are put together correctly, efficiently, and in line with quality standards.
- Customer Interaction: Provide a positive customer experience by being courteous, professional, and helpful when delivering and assembling furniture. Address any customer queries or concerns in a polite and timely manner.
- Product Knowledge: Understand the products being delivered and assembled to ensure the highest quality of service, providing advice or guidance to customers as necessary.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure the van is well-maintained, cleaned, and organized for daily use. Perform regular checks on the vehicle and report any issues or maintenance needs to the appropriate team.
- Problem-Solving: Be proactive in solving assembly-related issues and be able to troubleshoot any problems with the furniture or assembly process.
- Documentation & Reporting: Complete all necessary paperwork, including delivery logs, assembly reports, and customer sign-offs.
Requirements:
- A valid UK driving licence with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a Van Driver with a strong track record of punctuality and reliability
- Carpentry or Furniture Assembly background is highly desirable
- Strong practical skills and the ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in furniture assembly
- Good communication skills and a customer-focused attitude
- Ability to work independently, manage your time effectively, and stay organized
- Physically capable of lifting and carrying furniture
- A professional and positive attitude, with the ability to work well under pressure
- Previous experience in a similar role (van driver + assembly) would be an advantage
