A music teacher is needed for an outstanding (Ofsted) special educational needs (SEN) school in North London for secondary school students.

As a music teacher, you will be working with students who find mainstream education challenging and benefit from learning in smaller and calmer environments.

This school is easily accessible from around London, with great transport links.

Your responsibilities as a teacher may include:

Lesson planning and delivery for students with a range of learning difficulties and complex needs.
Providing specialised education for pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Helping students to develop confidence and independence.
Implementing behaviour management techniques, which may include physical restraints, to maintain a positive and safe learning environment.
Working with specialist teaching services, medical staff, counsellors, and psychologists
Being aware of safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of students.

To be a teacher, you will need:

The right to work in the UK.
Early Career Teacher (ECT) with relevant experience will be considered.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or overseas trained teacher awaiting QTS.
A clear and up-to-date DBS
Experience working with young people with SEN.
A patient, caring attitude who can remain calm and supportive under pressure.
