GSL Education London Branch is looking for a Music Teacher to join a coeducational secondary school and sixth form in Hackney. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and passionate Music Teacher to inspire students and support their creative development. If you are an enthusiastic Music Teacher with strong subject knowledge and a flair for creativity, we would love to hear from you!

Music Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Music lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Prepare students for GCSE and A-level Music exams with effective teaching strategies.
  • Use practical and theoretical teaching methods to inspire a love for Music.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Lead and support extracurricular activities, including school concerts, performances, and music clubs.
  • Encourage students to develop their musical skills through both individual and group work.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain high standards in the Music department.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and attainment.
  • Follow the school’s behaviour and safeguarding policies.

Music Teacher Requirements:

  • Must hold UK QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience teaching Music in UK secondary schools.
  • Strong knowledge of the Music curriculum up to A-level.
  • Ability to play and teach at least one musical instrument to a high standard.
  • Excellent classroom management skills.
  • A creative and innovative approach to teaching.
  • A valid DBS registered on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
