Job Role: Music Teacher
School: A coeducational secondary school and sixth form in Hackney
Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 per annum
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Permanent

GSL Education London Branch is looking for a Music Teacher to join a coeducational secondary school and sixth form in Hackney. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and passionate Music Teacher to inspire students and support their creative development. Music Teacher Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging Music lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
Prepare students for GCSE and A-level Music exams with effective teaching strategies.
Use practical and theoretical teaching methods to inspire a love for Music.
Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
Lead and support extracurricular activities, including school concerts, performances, and music clubs.
Encourage students to develop their musical skills through both individual and group work.
Collaborate with colleagues to maintain high standards in the Music department.
Maintain accurate records of student progress and attainment.
Follow the school’s behaviour and safeguarding policies.

Music Teacher Requirements:

Must hold UK QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
Proven experience teaching Music in UK secondary schools.
Strong knowledge of the Music curriculum up to A-level.
Ability to play and teach at least one musical instrument to a high standard.
Excellent classroom management skills.
A creative and innovative approach to teaching.
A valid DBS registered on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
